Awesome Awnings was started in May 2001 by Alastair and Rosemary Dean who had been involved in the permanent weather protection market for a number of years.
“We started Awesome Awnings because we believed that you the client were not receiving the value for money that you deserved. We both firmly believe the four points of Awesome (Design, Durability, Rooms and Service) encumbrance our professional and personal beliefs. As long as we are both still involved with Awesome Awnings we will strive to be the best product and service in the awning market. We pride ourselves on being a family owned and operated business".
The phrase under our logo “Cover you can Trust” is still core to our business today.
Our product has multiple uses for covering difficult or unused areas.

Awesome Design
Awesome Awnings are a permanent weather protection system designed and manufactured to enhance our “Kiwi” lifestyle requirements. Whether that is covering an existing deck, patio area, providing covering between buildings, covering your boat, bus, car, camper van, and caravan. Your Awesome Awning is custom designed to suit your needs so they come in a variety of shapes and sizes with either traditional straight or more contemporary curved roof frame.
All us Kiwis want, need and expect is a product that is functional and funky. We want to have a design that meets our individual requirements - a one-off for us.
Awesome Awnings designs provide you the client with rain, shade, sun, wind protection.
The Awesome Awnings designs are custom made to your requirements but are kept within the New Zealand Building requirements.
N.B. Building Consents are required on the following size structures as per Schedule One of the New Zealand Building Code
- Any structure attached to an existing building exceeding 15m²
- Any freestanding structure that exceeds 10m²
Awesome Durability
Awesome Awnings are specifically engineered and manufactured for the New Zealand climatic conditions.
And what we mean by that is the four different weather conditions we have in one day rain, snow, sun, wind.
The practise used in the manufactured of the product has been independently tested in salt chamber environment and reports commission by a corrosion expert on the results.
Minimum maintenance is required to keep your “Awesome Awning” in pristine condition. No chemicals just good old fashioned soap and water.

Awesome Room
Awesome Awnings have recently added to its product line by being able to offer you the option of having drop-down sides attached to your Awesome Awning.
The drop-down sides further expand on the ability to use your Awesome Awning 24/7 further meeting your changing requirements due to personal and environmental change.
The drop-down sides come in numerous colours and styles and are specifically designed and installed to suit your needs.

We manage the process from sales, manufacturing, council and installation.
